A dangerous place to mix past and present.
Desperate to meet the father she’s never known, Jill Shepherd and Clay Merrick accept an invitation to spend the holidays at her birth father’s home in a Milwaukee, Wisconsin  mansion. Upon arrival, she’s met with hostility from his family and finds him gravely and mysteriously ill.
His nurse secretly shares with Jill her frightening suspicions that someone is trying to kill John Taylor. Jill and Clay attempt to discover if those suspicions could be true and who might have a motive for murder. When her father’s condition worsens, Jill is accused, and she and Clay are ordered from the house.
Jill and Clay suddenly find themselves embroiled in a race to outwith a mysterious killer and unmask a bitter plot that has been years in the making. With her father’s life hanging in the balance, can they prove Jill’s innocence and stop the killer before it’s too late?
