Holidays This Week 10/4 – 10/10

Hoshana Tabbah is Sunday, October 4th. In the Jewish culture, it is the last day of Sukkot or Feast of Booths and is known as the final judgement. Seven times of worship are celebrated on this day. It also has a Christian reference that after 7 years of Tribulation, the final judgement will happen.

October 6 is Simchat Torah. This is the days that Jews celebrate the Torah (Old Testament). The Torah is read every day in the Temple. On Simchat Torah, the last reading for the year is read. Christians can use this day to celebrate the whole Bible, God’s Word. If you’re not reading the Bible daily, this would be a good day to start.

Other Holidays This Week:

  • October 5 – National Child Health Day
  • October 6 – Mad Hatter Day
  • October 7 – World Smile Day
