Guest Author Katheryn Maddox Haddad – Christianity or Islam: The Contrast

Katheryn-Stars-Red-largeIt took forty-three years for Katheryn to write Star Song and the other seven books in her octilogy lyrical novel on the life of Christ—Soul Journey With Jesus. She wrote her first chapter when she was seventeen. Friends told her she should write the whole life of Christ. “I told them I was too young because I needed to do more living and gain more wisdom,” Katheryn relates. “I told them that I would write the rest of it when I reached sixty. When I was sixty I wrote it.”

Not only that, but she wrote all eight books twice. “I wanted to understand what it would be like to be Jesus’ contemporary. So the first time I wrote it, Jesus was wearing jeans and he and his apostles got around in an old bus.” When she wrote it the second time, cars became wagons, buses became caravans, jeans became tunics, and outboard motors became oars. “I tried to keep the language as contemporary as possible so readers today could relate to Jesus of yesterday.”

Katheryn has two master’s degrees and currently lives in Arizona where there is no snow. She is kept company by her palm trees, cacti, music, and computer with the lettering worn off.

Christianity or Islam: The Contrast

by Katheryn Maddox Haddad

I have taught the Bible over the internet to over 5000 Muslims. I have converts to Christianity in hiding in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Palestine, Jordan, and Uzbekistan.

One in Afghanistan was discovered, and told to make a $50,000 bribe, or he would be turned over to the authorities and imprisoned. He immediately sent his wife and four children to another province where they slept in a different place each night. He went to yet another province to draw attention away from his family since they do not hesitate to kidnap children and hold them for ransom. He ended up escaping with his family to India. But he could not find work there, despite his education, because of prejudice there against Afghans and Pakistanis. His wife couldn’t face raising their children in a refugee camp, so they went back, but in a different part of town, and he went to work in disguise. I think today he is probably paying a weekly bribe to stay free.

I have a convert in Iraq who converted her husband. He went on a business trip to Turkey and left his wife in the care of his mother. His mother locked her in a room and beat her every day to get her to renounce Christianity.

Another convert in Iraq could not convert his wife. Instead, she told her tribe about it, and they beat him. Then she took their two children and left him.

Another convert in Palestine is a professor at a university. The government got suspicious, confiscated his computer, he went into hiding, and they finally returned his computer with no comment. He returned home believing all was well after all, but two months later, he was fired from his job.

I can tell you about a Muslim young lady in Pakistan who wanted to marry a Christian, the two of them eloped, but were discovered. Her family chased them all across Pakistan to kill him. They finally escaped to China.

There are many good-hearted Muslims out there who are embarrassed over their own religion and are looking elsewhere. The Muslims who escape their own country for more freedom and go to the western world often cling to their religion because it is a cultural thing and helps them feel more stable. The Muslims who stay behind are the ones who are looking elsewhere.

I am just one teacher of Muslims. There are thousands of others, I am sure. We are making a difference. I have collected nearly 100 statements from Muslims who have told me Jesus really was the Son of God and not just a prophet. Not all have become Christians. But the seed has been planted. God said his Word would not return to him void.

I sincerely believe that some day ~ probably not in my lifetimes ~ The Middle East will return to the Christianity that originated there. The only way the Muslims and Jews will ever find peace among them is through Jesus Christ.

What can you do? Three things.

1. I have developed a website that explains Islam to Christians and Christianity to Muslims at www.churchofchrist-cg-az.com/ISLAM [caps important] written in both English and Arabic. You can refer your Muslim friends to that website. It has colorful pictures and is a friendly place for them.

2. Offer your Muslim friends an Arabic New Testament. You or they can request a free one on the above website.

3. Give away copies of my book ~ Christianity or Islam: The Contrast ~ to Muslims. It is similar to the website. It has many quotes from the Qu’ran, then quotes from the Bible on the same subjects. I do not condemning in the book; I let the books speak for themselves. It also clarifies misinformation Muslims are taught about Christians such as believing in three Gods: God, Jesus, and Mary, and that God had sexual relations with Mary for Jesus to be born. Besides numerous quotations from Muslims who now believe, I have an open letter to Muslims at the end of the book.

Clouds in blue sky

“Christianity or Islam: The Contrast” was written to help Christians understand Islam, and Muslims understand Christianity. It is not ABOUT the two religions, but quotes DIRECTLY from the scriptures of both groups so the reader can know personally what they teach instead of relying on rumors. Quotes from the Qu’ran and New Testament (Injil) of the Bible cover the same topics for comparison purposes.

Do Christians really claim God had to have a wife in order to have a son?

Do Christians really claim there are three Gods?

Was the Bible really corrupted?

Is the God of the Muslims the same as the God of the Christians?

These questions and more are answered inside these pages. Take the challenge and find out for yourself.

Quotations of nearly 100 Muslims are included (names not given, locations disguised for their safety) who have decided Jesus really was the Son of God and not just a prophet.

  1. Thank you. I have it listed on my website. We shall see today if there are any spikes in sales. That and the books on Revelation and the Holy Spirit have always been my best sellers. My novel series on the life of Christ ust has not taken off yet, though those who read it are “blown away” by it.
