Can you believe it is already February. Hopefully the groundhog doesn’t see his shadow and we have an early Spring. Now that the 30 Day Life Challenge is over, it is time for Word Sharpener Week again. If you missed any of the 30 Day Life Challenge posts, they will remain posted until March. Sometime in the fall, the 30 Day Life Challenge will be available in e-book.
Other Holidays This Week:
Today – Candlemas Day. It is a day of renewal, hope and celebration and is 40 days after the birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated. On that day, Mary and Joseph brought their newborn son, Jesus, to the Temple. During this time, an elderly holy man named Simeon was staying in Jerusalem. Simeon was told by the Holy Spirit that his death would not come until he saw the Messiah. When Simeon held the baby Jesus, he knew that Jesus had come for the salvation of all. Simeon stated that Jesus was “A light to the revelation of the Gentiles and the glory of thy people of Israel.”
- Feb. 3 – Full Moon
- Feb. 4 – Create a Vacuum Day (that’s just weird)
- Feb. 5 – National Weathermen’s Day
- Feb. 6 – Lame Duck Day
- Feb. 7 – Send a Card to a Friend Day
- Feb. 8 – Kite Flying Day (like anyone will fly a kite in the snow)
Word Sharpener News:
My novellas are still available on Amazon and other sites. I am currently editing a novella with an Easter theme called Resurrection of Hope. More info will be coming shortly.
Quote of the Week: “A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, ‘darkness’ on the walls of his cell.” — C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain
Verse of the Week: Revelation 4:8-11 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
“‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”
Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
