Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
When the Smoke Clears is the first in a series called Deadly Reunions. This novel doesn’t let you breath. It’s nonstop action from the time Alexia, a firefighter fighting her own personal fires, is almost overcome in a fire where she saves the life of a child. Instead of a medal, she receives a suspension because of a mysterious default with her equipment. The intrigue doesn’t stop there. When she arrives home to visit her sick mother and figure out her next move, she walks in on a murder and the police suspect her. Soon Alexia realizes the murderer is after her, but she has no idea why. This murder mystery has everything from suspense to romance and beyond with a strong woman as the protagonist. Alexia’s not going to just lie down and die. She’s determined to find out what’s going on and to stop the culprit while she battles her own demons. Don’t start this book if you plan on sleeping before you finish it.
